Whitening
As a patient at Bellevue Dental Arts (BDA), there are many methods for teeth whitening: bleaching strips, bleaching gel trays, laser bleaching, internal bleaching, and composite or porcelain restorations. Oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide are used to lighten the shades of the tooth. These agents penetrate the porosities in the tooth enamel and oxidize stain deposits. At BDA, we have used laser whitening, LED whitening, ZOOM whitening, and other types of in office treatments. Our clinical experience along with clinical trials[1] have shown that halogen light produces optimal treatment results and therefore has focused our one hour treatments to a combination of LED whitening and at home bleach trays.
Our team at BDA will provide expected outcomes for your in-office treatment. Bleaching can produce dramatic improvements for most patients but some stains do not respond: decay, decalcification, gray coloration, tetracycline, acid erosion, and recession causing root exposure. Also, the results can vary based on each individual’s lifestyle: coffee, tea, red wine, smoking, at home care, continuing at home custom bleach trays.
Bellevue Dental Arts also offers internal tooth bleaching, porcelain veneers and tooth colored (composite) fillings to maximize your esthetic smile!
